A composition of the uniquely banded Botswana agate and dark red Garnet. This particular form of Agate is found and associated to the Botswana region. Most Agates occur as Nodules in Volcanic rocks or ancient lavas, agates belong to the chalcedony family, but it’s the beautiful concentric rings that puts it in its own family.

Carreg Las Snowdonia is the result of an absolute passion for geology, rocks and minerals. Ever since i was a child, i was drawn to the rock. I used to fill my pockets with interesting looking pebbles from walks on the beach and then write off several washing machines by leaving them in there. I was lucky enough to spend my childhood in Dorset, living on the Jurassic coast. Striking gold i managed to kick start my career in the coolest store in Weymouth, Fossil Beach. It sold fossils, rocks and silver jewellery. It sold all the materials to make your own gemstone jewellery.I am now still all about the rocks, by day I am full time Geoscientist but by night i am an avid crafter and mountain biker. The necklaces are themselves a celebration of earth, all the pieces are natural and are the result of our active planet. These pieces are a labour of love and i hope they give you as much joy as I have experienced making them.
