A very striking bead-woven necklace!

Inspired by Egyptian beadwork and Art Deco, this collar-style necklace is made from hundreds of high-quality Japanese glass beads (and yards of thread!) in hues of deep teal blue and light opaque gold.

This necklace sits beautifully around the neck and on the shoulders and collarbones, and feels lovely to wear. It's not too heavy or chunky and is very flexible, so it will mould itself to your shape. I have made an integral triangular beadwork button to fasten it, with a matching loop. This creates a more flowing and matching appearance and also makes it very easy open or close, as it is less fiddly than a small lobster clasp but just as secure.

The necklace measures 52cm / 20.5 inches long and 2.5cm / 1in wide - please note that I am very small, so the necklace appears slightly bigger on me in the photos above!

Each piece is made using careful attention to detail, to ensure that it is as durable, secure and comfortable as possible. Please avoid immersing them in water, as this may compromise the strength of the thread and the lifespan of the item. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.

Each piece is wrapped in tissue paper and placed in an organza bag.

This is a piece that has taken shape slowly in my mind over a number of months, inspired by a combination of Art Deco and Egyptian beadwork design styles. I had a clear picture of what I wanted it to look like but it wasn't until I recently learned more about netting stitch that I figured out the practicalities of actually making it! I'm very pleased with the result - I always know a piece has worked well when I covet it for myself!
