This is 'Ari,' one of the famous 'Lopi Cats', hand knitted in beautiful orange wool. He is soft, squash-able and very, very cuddly. Filled with the lightest, softest polyester toy filling, Ari is the perfect companion for cat lovers of any age.

I use the finest, most beautiful Icelandic Lopi yarn to knit my cats and because each one seems to have it's own personality, I give each cat a name. Ari means 'eagle,' in Icelandic and doesn't he look like a regal fellow?

The Lopi Cats have been given to children to cuddle, to adults in hospital and one has even become a company mascot. Several of the cats have travelled abroad.

The Lopi Cats began when my daughter went away ti Uni and was missing her cat BB, who was living with us. So I knitted her a 'BB,' my daughter loved it and so the Lopi Cats were born!
I use Icelandic 'Lopi' wool to knit the cats because it is a particularly lovely, hardwearing wool and comes in the most beautiful colours. Icelandic sheep are one of the oldest sheep breeds, dating back almost unchanged since the Vikings first took them to Iceland over a thousand years ago.
