Vibrant moorhen artwork 'Iris and Moorhen'. This unusual British birds art print features one of our most common birds, the moorhen, in amongst colourful blue iris and yellow forsythia flowers. Beautiful, intricate detail and striking colours would make this bird art a lovely bird lover gift or nature lover gift.

This bird art print has been printed with the giclee print technique for rich, saturated colours and a velvety matte finish with resistance to fading in the light which means you can enjoy your nature print in your home for years to come.

Giclee square art print: 305mm x 305mm (approx. 12" x 12") printed size. Overall size 356mm x 356mm (approx 14" x 14") including an additional unprinted border all round.

8 x 8” and 16 x 16” print sizes are available, so please ask and I can add it here for you.
An 8" x 8" square print costs £42 plus £6 P&P and a 16" x 16" square print costs £85 plus £6 P&P. (16" print size pictured in frame)

Mounted prints are also available, with prices starting at £48 plus £6 P&P (for an 8" square sized print).

I can also provide framed prints with a choice of frames, with prices starting at £95 plus £8.50 P&P (for an 8" square print with mount & frame). Please ask.

Printed with archival inks on acid-free matte archival paper (230gsm)

Print will be sent unframed, unmounted and rolled in a tube. Printed to order. Usually posted within 7-14 days.

I'm taking a little break from my Folksy store but I'm still about busy arting, blogging and creating if you'd like to see what I'm up to or get in touch ~ Lotti :)

I love this detailed and cheerful artwork. It's inspired by the little family of moorhens who live on the grass verge across the road from my house. It's so enjoyable to watch them!

I think sometimes we forget that nature isn't just about rare birds or spectacular wild landscapes - there's so much wonderful nature in the most common of little creatures and birds... and in our own parks and gardens...

That's why I put my sweet little moorhen in a park or garden setting, with beautiful blue irises, and yellow forsythia. I think the moorhen really suits the oriental setting, and it makes her seem so much more exotic and beautiful, I think :)

I hope you like her too, and will enjoy watching her exploring amongst the irises...

My moorhen and all the flowers are all hand drawn and coloured with pens and ink. I then scan my drawings into the computer, and put them all together to create the final artwork digitally.

So much intricate detail in this artwork - look very closely!
