Encaustic Art is a 2000 year old art form that was originally used to create soul paintings to immortalise the dead. Examples of these images can be found in galleries and museums all over the world. Once framed behind glass it is hard-wearing and can retain its beauty over centuries only really being damaged by excessive heat. Consequently please do not hang your purchase in direct sunlight.
All my encaustic wax paintings are original and unique (not copies). This piece is initialled and sealed into an A4 cream bevelled mount ready for framing.
Each piece is supplied in a cello bag and, for additional protection, will be despatched in a reinforced envelope.
This painting was created during an Encaustic Art Workshop held at Arreton Barns. Due to the unpredictable nature of the encaustic wax we are encouraged to apply the wax and then use our imagination to develop an imaged. However, living on a beautiful Island surrounded by stunning scenery it is not surprising that my paintings are influenced by this never ending source of inspiration.
