Beech Wood Bowl 405

Beech Wood Bowl 405
£17.00
Love this

Description

A chunky bowl in beech with a decorative bead under the side rim and pyrographed with a continuous trailing leaf design around the top edge which adds to the grain features. It measures 182mm in diameter and is 45mm high. It has been sanded smooth and waxed to a shine finish which is smooth to the touch.

Inspiration

The close grain of beech sets off the pyrographed leaves beautifully on this chunky bowl. Pyrography is literally “fire writing” and has been worked with a solid point pyrography machine, which allows for subtle shading. Not all wood is suitable for pyrographing, but beech has a beautifully smooth and even surface, ideal for decoration. The turned bead just under the rim gives an added feature of interest.
