Handprinted using oil-based inks on Hahnemuhle paper.
Signed and editioned, limited print run of 75.
Image size 20cm x 15cm. with backing 30cm x 21cm.
Sealed in protective archival plastic cellophane sleeve.

This original design was carved in tulip wood, also known as yellow poplar. Woodcuts were a popular method of image reproduction for centuries. I choose to carve images like this in wood as it is visually reminiscent of earlier times.
This print is entitled 'Whittakers', designed from drawings I have made at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum in Singleton, West Sussex. The museum is frequently employed by film and television companies portraying medieval life; many people recognise it from the BBC's Tudor monastery Farm.
