Item details
Current travel restrictions may mean that some mounted or framed prints may take a little longer to prepare than usual. I'll be in touch if this is the case.
Unmounted prints will be posted as normal.
Thanks, Nigel
I'm a biologist by training and like plants and made a set of macro photographs of leaf patterns, especially the variegation. Some of those images were selected and became the basis for a set of three linocuts.
They're reduction linocuts which means that after printing each colour the plate is cleaned, re-cut and inked with the next colour. It's then over-printed onto the previous print trying to maintain exact registration.
For this print the process was repeated twice. Yellow first, then light green, then dark green. Once the second cut is made no further prints can be taken as the plate for the first colour is now modified.
