Whilst living in Sweden many moons ago I would often take trips to the archipelago on the west coast. There the sky was very often clear, regardless of the season. My inspiration for painting this could easily have been in the summer or the winter. The sky is clear, painted with watered down acrylic paint, as are the hills. The water I did with my palette knife and, right before it dried, I managed to scrape and scratch away parts of it to make the effect the light was having.
