I am interested in using the man-made flotsam that appears on the beach near my home to make plant containers, so I look for bits of wood, tile, brick, glass, rope and net. I arrange and rearrange them until I have a shape that will work for the plants I have, prioritising the good health of the plant and the varying textures of the materials. Each item I make from flotsam is unique, determined by the chance findings and combinations. This piece is made from a fragment of fishing net, held between pieces of driftwood.
