I love this stunning chest of drawers. Originally bought, and used, as a rather drab, brown utility item. The shape was very classy though, and was crying out for an update.

Now painted in a gorgeous Napoleonic Blue with Red highlights. I even left some of the original brown varnish as this gives the drawers an aged look. The handles are original metal. Even has one locked drawer with a key. In the flesh this looks like a stunning antique.

Roughly 1.2m tall and 1m wide. Five drawers.

The chest was crying out for a make over. I love the Napoleonic Blue, and it really brings out the depth of character here. The chest was solid, so just needed paint.

I added red highlights to bring out the darker blue and varnished wood. The whole lot was waxed, then gone over with a darker, aging wax finish. It is so dark, it is almost liquid to look at. Gorgeous!
