The moment my father saw my very first creation from lost wax casting, Quasimodo the Red-Eyed Tree Frog, he began asking me to make him a stag beetle. Reluctant at first due to a fear of not doing the wonderful stag beetle justice, I was finally persuaded by the following quote from a loyal customer:
“I love stag beetles – there used to be still some around when I was a child, but they are few and far between now. Finding one was magic – we’d been taught to be very careful so as not to damage them – and sometimes we were allowed to pick them up. I also loved the Great Diving Beetle..."
