Grooming is a hand made sculpture by West Midlands based artist Natalie Brooks, who uses older craft techniques with a fine art concept in mind.

This sculpture has been made by using needle felting over a bespoke wire armature.

The sculpture stands on a reclaimed wooden base and will come with his own COA/care card.

It measures approximately 15.5" high by 14" long.

This sculpture is an example of one of Natalie's partial sculptures. Like a painting, it is almost zoomed in and focused one one area. As with all the partials, it is based upon a memory of a direct observation of horse behaviour.

The focus of this piece is upon the direct interaction of the horses who are mutual grooming. This is a bonding exercise between two horses and it is most often seen between horses who have "pair bonded". In human terms, they are best friends and are helping each other to moult, relax and feel more comfortable.
