Handmade cream and pink floral cotton 50's vintage style dress. The Item as seen can be purchased for the price shown, this can also be handmade to order in your choice of fabrics, the cost of making only is £110, the cost of materials would be extra.

Fully lined in cream cotton, giving the dress a substantial special occasion feel. All seams are sewn with a single row of straight stitching and seam edges are finished. This avoids fraying of fabric but allows for easy alterations should you need any adjustments from your dressmaker if buying the pre-made item.

The dress measures: Waist 29" ( 74cm), Bust 35" ( 89cm), Top of shoulder to waist 15 7/8" (40cm), Skirt Length 24 1/2" ( 62cm). I hesitate to give a standard size, but as a rough guide; if you like the look of this pre-made item get your tape measure out if you normally take a UK size 10 or 12, and treat yourself!

Remember having one made especially for your size is only more expensive if your chosen fabric costs more. This one was based on a cost of £5.00/ metre.

Whilst sorting out my Mum's sewing room recently I found a length of this floral cotton fabric and lots of vintage dress patterns from 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. This fabric just made 50's vintage spring to mind and I decided I had to go for this style of dress! I love the pattern and plain combination and wanted to create a beautifully finished item that would work just as well for a summer wedding as for a night out dancing or on the beach!
I've gone all out for the finish on this one with exposed seams of skirt and skirt lining finished with an overlocked edge. Enclosed seams of the bodice are pinked with zig zag scissors. Hem of dress is hand stitched with tiny slip stitches. The dress bodice as seen is not boned ( Why get poked in the ribs when you have straps!?) But boning could be added if desired for an extra charge of £15.
