Tiny shards of ocean tumbled Cornish sea glass have been carefully collected and pieced together to create these delicate flower petals. Some are left in their natural pale blue colour, the others are coloured in the palest pink and then set inside a 20cm (8"x8") square glazed box frame that comes in either black or white - just drop me a note with your preference when you place your order (If no preference is made a white frame will be sent)
Sea glass is created from waste glass being thrown into the ocean where it's relentlessly tumbled in the sand by the motion of the waves until it becomes beautifully smoothed and frosted. Larger pieces are used for jewellery but I mostly pick up misshaped shards to use in my varied artworks. Sea glass has a history all of its own. There's no telling how long the glass used in this picture has been in the sea or where it came from originally and this adds an extra special element to each piece I create.
Making my sea glass flowers is like doing a jigsaw puzzle without the picture on the box but finding the perfect pieces that fit together is a challenge I love
