A weekend away in the Yorkshire Dales, and a cheese course after a Sunday roast dinner gave me the idea ro make a cheese board using the kiln carving method.

Full description
Measuring approx 254 mm x 200mm (10" x 8") this clear glass cheese board has been made using two sheets of clear glass. By using the kiln-carving method, letters have been cut out from fibre board and placed under the glass. Once placed in the kiln and heated to 800 degrees Celsius the glass forms around the letters, burning away the fibre, and leaving an imprint behind. The letters form the words for "cheese" in 4 different languages whilst each side has a raised ridge to help lifting and the board.
