To be honest, its amazing how desperation can sometimes lead to inspiration, as , still in the workshop and late in the evening on valentines day , I suddenly realised I hadn't bought anything for my girlfriend. ( I have since learned that the key, in part, for a more harmonious life is to be prepared and plan well in advance for special occasions such as valentines and birthdays ! ) No card, no flowers and all the shops closed. Queue the inspiration and an hour later I have in my hand the first ever Welsh Book of Love, made from an old floorboard , a salvaged hinge, wax polished and an evident arts and crafts influence. I'm happy to say it still lives on the mantelpiece some thirty years later !
