I drew the lady in black enamelled copper wire - lovely and bendy with a slight spring to it - her kite is cut from a yellow plastic bottle picked up from the beach and the kite tail is made from painted paper and fishing line. The base is one of my furniture-maker husbands wooden offcuts.

There is a small hole in the wooden base which the lady easily sticks into. I don't glue the wire into the base as it's easier and safer to transport the piece when the base and wire are seperate.

The sculpture will measure approximately 40 cm high in total and up to 20 cm wide but this may vary as this piece is made to order. Please take not of this when ordering as yours will vary slightly from the piece in the image. You'll be getting a 100% unique one-off piece of artwork.

My Dad gave me my first pair of pliers when I was a child and I've not stopped playing with them (or collecting them!) since then.

This piece is inspired by watching my toddler daughter running about on the beach in early spring with the kite that she was given for her first birthday. We'd tried flying it several times but she didn't like it - for some reason this particular day she suddenly LOVED it and ran about squealing with delight!
