Meet Granny Angel Miriam in this original piece of textile art.

Granny Angels are like superheroes but what they lack in speed, they make up for in life experience.

Miriam has a fitting song for every eventuality and occasion and isn't afraid to sing it. When off duty and out of her angel attire, Miriam likes to wear spotty dresses and a flowery pinny to bake sausage meat pies. She prides herself on having never ever produced anything with a soggy bottom!

This unique Granny Angel textile art piece is the perfect gift for anyone who loves baking or singing for that matter or who needs their very own guardian angel (and let's face it, we all need one of those from time to time) or even a sneaky little treat for yourself.

Made from:
Set on a background of jade green cotton canvas, this framed textile art mixes freehand machine embroidery with hand embroidery. Miriam’s dress is white lace, with a floral cotton apron with ric rac ribbon trim and and a green cotton fabric handbag. Miriam’s hair is very practically tucked away inside a pink cotton headscarf.

The green background fabric is approx 12.5cm x 16.5cm
Miriam's height is approx 10cm with a wing span of approx 10cm

I have been lucky to have many tins of buttons, boxes of ribbons and stashes of fabric scraps passed down to me from my Grandma and Great Aunts who are now angels themselves. It seemed fitting to create my own gang of gorgeous Granny Angels based loosely on these lovely ladies but with a healthy dose of my own imagination thrown in.
