This is a unique piece of studio pottery which has been made using stoneware clay and fired to 1250 degrees. This vase has been entirely handmade using very thin layers of clay which are built up to create the form. The inside is decorated with a layer of blue slip and a clear glaze covers the inside and the outside lip of the jug. The outside is left rough and is textured in comparison to show a contrast in the clay surfaces, and is finished off with silver leaf. This piece is part of my current gallery collection of archeologaically inspired work.
The jug is 15cm tall
All my work is very carefully packaged and where possible I use recycled packaging. Collection is possible from my studio in the New Forest by arrangement.
