This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
This is a brand new design to celebrate the arrival of a lovely big patch of sunshine in my garden today.
I wanted to depict all the different colours of sunshine so have used 15 different types and shades of glass for this colour wheel. O
ffset from the centre is a big multi-faceted lead crystal which will capture any real sunshine that falls onto it and give a lovely sparkle to the piece.
The circle is framed for strength and neatness with twisted wire.
This is 13.5cms in diameter and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.
it is would make a wonderfully bright addition to any room.
It is totally individual and I am really pleased with it.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure they are unique.
As this is the first I've made to this design, all photos are of the suncatcher for sale here.
The sun was shining today on my Staffordshire garden and I was contemplating all the lovely colours of sunshine we see at different times of the year, in different parts of the world.
So I went up to the office, drew myself a pattern then took it to my studio where I chose 15 types of glass in all shades of yellow through amber to red. This is the result.
