I am a member of Chesterfield branch of The Embroiderers' Guild. In November 2015 our branch celebrated it's 25 year anniversary. To commemorate this event & milestone we held an exhibition entitled Celebrations. We were all asked to submit a piece of work based around this theme. I made this piece of work for that exhibition. The piece reflects the tradition of balloons being associated with celebrating birthdays & also the fact that many people choose to release balloons into the sky to mark or celebrate a special occasion or event in their lives.
