A few years ago whilst beachcombing in Devon with my husband I came across a washed up paintbrush. It must have been in the sea for a while judging by its condition and battered relentlessly by the waves as every bristle was completely gone and the end worn smooth it was also quite distressed with peeling paint. I jumped upon my "find" and waved it under my husband's nose. "Look" I said excitedly "this will make a great chimney stack". With a raised eyebrow he looked at my precious find and just muttered "Hmm, really?"
Undeterred, I pushed it into my bag and practically skipped along the beach my mind racing with ideas. Back home it was put in my shed with endless other finds and forgot about. Then whilst tidying my shed I came across the paintbrush and set about making my second house.
