I'm taking a break, family time, open again on the 24th. If you want to reserve or order something please message me, I'm still here just not glassing. If you can see it in my shop then I have it and it's all ready to post, from the 24th.though everything shows as unavailable until I set my shop open flag back on.
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I've tried to depict all four seasons and their progression in this suncatcher.
Starting with snow and a frozen lake at the bottom, then spring green, daffodils and bluebells, summer pastels with pinks and purple canterbury bells and then in autumn the green leaves turn to amber and red.
And ever present, that lovely big warming yellow sun.
I've bordered it with matching colours for the frame and surrounded the glass frame with twisted wire for strength and neatness.
Very pleased with this new design. It looks superb in the window with the glass sun catching the light. It will throw some lovely coloured shapes across the room when the real sun shines through.
This is 15cm x 13cm cm and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.
It can hang in a window or just against a wall and it is would make a wonderfully colourful addition to any room.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure it is unique.
As we drove through the lanes on a gorgeous January springlike day I was amused by the confusion of seasons. Some last remnants of snow on the verges, snow drops popping up, daffodils and iris in bud, catkins on the hazels and robins singng, fit to burst,. from the hedge tops. The calendar says it's winter, the garden Spring and my one foot high delphinium says summer.
So when I got home I put all the seasons into this suncatcher.
