In spring and summer I try to work in the garden every day, even if it's just 5 minutes. My wee daughter 'helps' me. Between the midges warfare, the chickens scratching/pecking, the deer's immense appetite and my daughter's technique of watering the flowers by pulling them up and shove them into the watering can, it's crazy I even have a garden. But nemesis number 1 is…. the SLUG! After coming out to see the 35 sunflower seedlings we had tended to decimated in one night I went inside and made my first slug trophy. Purely out of frustration. To my surprise they have been very popular - everyone has their own slug story.
