Slag glass, also known as marble glass is a type of opaque, streaked pressed glass. Production of slag glass originated in late-19th-century England, where glass manufacturers are thought to have added slag from iron-smelting works to molten glass to create a range of effects—from tortoiseshell to marbling.
This is a beautiful example of such a piece and we were so lucky to have found this too. Nothing to do but drill through the centre and add to a 2.5mm jet black leather necklace and finish with sterling silver clasps. Perfect for surfed and sea lovers. The necklace will arrive in a ShoreThing UK gift box all ready to give.
