Beautiful Alpaca 'mitts' - hypo-allergenic & chemical free

Perfect for your newborn to keep away the winter chill. (Age 0-2 months)

The mitts have a contrasting band to add an extra flash of colour. The colours are white and a chocolate brown courtesy of my adult alpacas Pep and Baby. Knitted for you by me.

You can request a little crochet string to be attached to each mitt and to link the two together if you want to thread them through a coat. I prefer to leave them loose as I wouldn't want them on string and unsupervised on a very young sleeping infant.

Colours are 100% natural.

Absolutely NO dyes or chemicals to achieve the colours or during the fleece washing and spinning process.

Knitted in 'double knit light' on wooden needles in Northumberland.

The mitts can be washed by hand or using the handwash function on a washing machine at no more than 30 degrees.

Dry at normal room temperature and ideally dry flat.

Do not tumble dry or Iron as they will felt and shrink with high heat.

This item will be packed as a gift and include a photo and some information on the animal who grew the fleece used to knit your item.

Alpaca yarn is in limited supply in the UK but is a softer fibre than sheep wool and well suited to the babywear marketplace.

I like knitting in 2 or more colours to show the diversity and contrast available in 100% natural yarn - why add dye or chemicals when it is so nice already!

Pep, who grew this fleece is the oldest in the group and first to sound the alarm (even if its just a kitten walking too close to her!!). She is a bit of a grump, her ears are seldom forward but she loves her food and her method of protesting is to sit down, so at least she isn't nasty with the grumpy. She just doesn't want to do anything, even nice things!

Baby is the clown of the group. She hasn't really been thinking about a baby of her own until this autumn so lets see what next summer brings.

These mitts are an understated addition to your babies wardrobe. A lovely warm neutral tone suited to either a boy or a girl.
