This Flying Scotsman blackboard comes as a set of two blackboards - the engine itself and also its tender - both included in the set at the one special price. Our Flying Scotsman chalkboard makes a fabulous gift and is ideal for leaving messages and reminders - a great way to keep in touch with the train enthusiast in the family.

Every blackboard is crafted from 6mm water-resistant MDF and is primed, undercoated and then painted with two layers of matt black blackboard paint. Our blackboard paint is certified as toy-safe so the Flying Scotsman blackboard would also make a fabulous gift for children.

Liquid chalk pens and traditional chalk can be used on all of our blackboards. Fitted to every blackboard is a clever rubber chalk and pen holder which helps to keep the chalk stick in one piece and always to hand. Free with all blackboards is a stick of chalk so the Flying Scotsman blackboard can be enjoyed from the moment it is received as a gift.

Our Flying Scotsman blackboard is fitted with a strong stiff seagrass cord to allow easy hanging when used as a sign for a business and when hanging in the workshop, train shed or in the home.

The Flying Scotsman blackboard engine measures 170mm (6.75 inches) tall and 560mm (22 inches) wide, the tender measures 165mm wide (6.5 inches) tall and 330mm (13 inches) wide so are a good size when used for leaving messages and reminders in the shed or home.

The Flying Scotsman 60103 is probably the most famous locomotive in the world. Built in 1923 in Doncaster it provided the first ever non-stop London to Edinburgh service cutting the time to less than eight hours and was the first locomotive to ever reach 100mph. It started out life painted in Apple Green, then black during the second world war, blue when part of British Rail and is now painted the familiar Brunswick Green.
