I made this pouch out of a recycled section of gingery tweed fabric and lined it with some bright red paisley cotton from an old Viyella skirt. It fastens with a contrasting dark brown zip.
You can use this pouch for loads of different things. I use mine to bring some sort of order to all the flotsam and jetsam that swills around in the bottom of my bag. Make-up, travel cards, credit cards, odd coins, lipsticks etc.
Because each of my pouches started as something else (a wool kilt, a tweed jacket, a cotton shirt) they come with a unique numbered card that shows what they used to be, and where they came from – a sort of pouch birth certificate.
All fabrics are thoroughly washed before being reconstructed, and this pouch is machine washable on a wool setting.

Handmade in Hammersmith Pouch no. 314
Big thanks to Pauline from the Duck Pond Markets, who kindly donated this piece of leftover tweed after making a rather lovely coat out of it. I made her a little pouch from the offcut which has already been to Kathmandu and back .... my pouches seem to be better travelled than I am.
