A pretty harvest scene of poppies in a cornfield on a crocheted background decorates the front of this pincushion.

Poppies have been hand embroidered in a combination of silk ribbons, wools and threads. Ears of corn have been stitched in vintage thread and tiny daisies added to complete the design. The background for the front of this pincushion has been firmly crocheted. The back of this pincushion is cut from a blue wool blend felt. The pincushion is stuffed with polyester wadding. The pincushion has been assembled using blanket stitch in red cotton thread.

I have revisited the theme of harvest poppies many times. I have recently been crocheting and decided to utilise my yarn stocks to make a background for this pincushion.
