Harris Tweed is such a lovely fabric and is so special it is protected by an Act of Parliament! When I saw this particular tweed, which comes direct from the weaver in the Hebrides, I knew I had to have some for Christmas making.
The proggy technique is traditionally used for making rag rugs, but I have been experimenting with it. I find it makes lovely, sturdy wreathes.
This one feels lovely to ruffle your fingers over and just conjures up a picture of warm firesides and cosy evenings with mugs of hot chocolate and a mince pie......

This wreath is made from Harris Tweed in a festive red and green check. I have added a small central hanging decoration with gold coloured beads. The wreath is backed with red velvet so looks festive from both sides.
This wreath, being made from durable Harris Tweed, can be used year after year and could be left up all year if it suits your colour scheme. It has a red velvet ribbon hanging loop so is ready for you to put up.
This beautiful Christmas wreath comes with the Harris Tweed authentication label.
The wreath is made using the traditional proggy rug making technique where the strips of Harris Tweed are woven into the hessian base which is then sewn onto a wire frame, which makes it nice and sturdy.
Size: approx. 30cm in diameter
Caring for the wreath is easy - all it needs is a shake every now and again!
A Harris Tweed wreath is a lovely way to add warmth and texture to a room. This is a wreath for life, not just for Christmas!
