It's a jungle out there, but Little Grey Teddy is ready for a new home and loving owner. I'll be sorry to see him go, but it's time for him to seek his fortune in the big wide world.

This cute little pale grey teddy bear has been needle felted with 100% Grey Welsh sheep wool. His infectious smile is needle felted Merino wool, and he has black bead eyes and an emerald green ribbon tie. Standing, he measures 9 cm tall, and his seated height is 6.5cm.

Little Grey Teddy's head, arms and legs are jointed. As well as standing, or sitting in the palm of your hand, you can turn the little bear's head and he will look at you with his shiny black eyes.

Little Grey Bear is not a toy: he includes small parts (jointed limbs and head, bead eyes and ribbon tie).

NEEDLEFELTING is a dry felting process in which a bundle of wool fibres is shaped into a firm structure by stabbing with very sharp barbed needles. This process takes time and patience, but the result is usually a rewarding little animal, maybe a cat toy or perhaps a toadstool pincushion.

Dimensions (all measurements are approximate):

Height sitting - 6.5cm (2.75 inches)
Overall depth - 3.5cm (1.5 inches)
Width - 5cm (2 inches)

Although Little Grey Teddy Bear weighs very little, due to his dimensions he will be posted as a small parcel, but rest assured that he will be comfortably and securely packaged.

I trained as a feltmaker, and dry needle felting provides an opportunity to expand my craft at times when it is not possible to make wet felt.

I started needle felting rabbits, mice (my cat has plenty of toys!) and mythical creatures, then moved on to teddy bears because it is such a pleasure to see the little characters take shape - they all have different expressions and personalities.

I have experimented with using wire armatures in my creations, as well as jointing, and learn more with each creature I make.
