'Benjamin' free standing wire bird sculpture made forming iron binding wire by hand.

Weaving techniques are used to add strength and pattern to the bird shaped body.
Springs and nuts are used to strengthen legs and add a mechanical look to the sculpture but also add detail and character.

The sculpture is extremely light weight. However, it is very strong and can be picked up easily. Please note it is not a toy.

The gauge of wire used is a mixture of 52,56 and 64mm gauge iron binding wire.

The eyes of the bird are made using enamelled wire in a turquoise - blue colour.
There are hints of very fine emerald green coloured wire in the wings.

The rough measurements of sculpture are 16 x 12 x 10cm.

The wings are shaped outstretched. 'Benjamin's' body stance is looking slightly to the side in an inquisitive manner.

'Benjamin' can look quite quirky sitting amongst plant pots, on shelves or mantle pieces. He can create great shadows and patterns on house hold walls depending on where he is positioned in the room. Near by candles create an almost ghost like image on walls of his body patterns.
Please keep sculpture out of direct sunlight and not touching any heat sources.

Sculpture comes in cardboard box with name of sculpture bird, is well packaged and protected for posting.
