Item details

Made on a woven skull cap base and overlaid with silk, this is a beautifully delicate fascinator. Brilliant turquoise netting has been added to give the fascinator height. Purple and turquoise feathers add interest and the silver and mother of pearl buttons finish off this piece to give it a really luxurious feel.

The base of the fascinator is lined with felt so it soft against the head and two crocodile clips either side of the fascinator ensure it is easy to wear and will stay put even on a breezy day!

I have been into arts and crafts from a young age, making clothes, jewellery and accessories since I was a little girl. People would often compliment me on the things I’d made and asked me why I don’t sell my creations. So, after years of being asked this question, I decided to give it a go and set up Myma’s Emporium.

I found the purple and turquoise silk scarf in a charity shop and it inspired me to create this fascinator. It reminded me of swirling waves in a summer breeze. I matched the feathers and netting to give the piece some height and interest. I thought the mother of pearl buttons look like mother-of-pearl shells you find on the beach and tied the whole piece together.
