Item details

The fabric is twill weave pure wool in aquamarine and its weight is 200g/m2. The yarn was woven in Yorkshire ,the fabric was woven at Melin Teifi in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The sling was made at my home in Carmarthenshire. This ring sling can be used to carry newborns to age 2 (approximately 30lb) .The rings are manufactured specifically for baby carrying and are pull tested to 250lb. They are certified lead, nickle, heavy metal and toxin free.

I have carried all my 4 children in different sorts of slings. Ring slings are one of my favourites. Your baby is held so close and safe, you can see your baby and make eye contact and have a chat. Baby can play with a toy in the sling and you can even breast feed. I just love the fabrics woven at Melin Teifi, they have a handmade feel to them which adds to their character. People in Wales traditionally carried their babies in woollen nursing shawls ( siol fagu) Something that only became less popular in recent history. I feel I am carrying on this proud tradition of baby wearing. I have been making and selling baby slings for 3 years and my business has public and product liability insurance.
