Low relief felted unique art work depicting a Kingfisher in flight having just caught a fish in it s beak. Mounted, framed and glazed. Crystal beads catch the light like water droplets and his wings have a subtle sheen of hand dyed raw silk. The pictures do not sadly do the work justice. each feather is made separately and the wings, body,head and tail all stand proud of the surface. Crystal beads represent water droplets.

We had been watching a Kingfisher at the Wetlands Centre and I was inspired by the multiplicity of patterns and forms that birds have to see if I could capture that vibrancy and speed in wool felt and embroidery.

DUE TO THE HEAVEY WEIGHT OF THIS ITEM AND THE DELICATE NATURE OF THE GLASS, I AM UNABLE TO POST ABROAD.
