This lovely sleeping dragon is cast in plaster Paris and coated in terracotta clay to give it a unique classical feel . It is approximately 14cm in length and is suitable to display indoors or in a conservatory as it has a felt base which will protect any surface . Each one is hand finished and may have slight creases and blemishes from the mould and where the clay dries out but I think that adds to the character of them .

I wanted to make a terracotta dragon in a mould I purchased and wanted it to have an aged look . The best way to do this was place the clay in the mould and then pour plaster Paris on it and let it set when I had taken it out of the mould I finished it with green velvet or purple velvet .
