This is a one-off original hand printed darkroom image on Ilford Pearl Finish (190gsm) paper.
It started life as an actual moth and a medium format negative shot on a 1940's camera. Carefully crafted in the darkroom using light and chemical processes the end result is this very unusual and beautiful print with a handmade feel.
In a black 10" x 10" frame, the print is roughly 4.5" x 4.5" with an off-white mount, with glass.

It will be packaged with care.

Finding real life objects on my allotment and surrounding area and making artwork from them creates a real connection with my surroundings. The moth was originally found by myself already deseased and the image/pattern appearing through it is actually an upturned burner lid shot on the allotment using my 1940's Rolleiflex film camera. Combined together by hand it represents to me that life always finds a way….
