I find plain notebooks very uninspiring so I was delighted to discover a way of converting them into something that was not only useful, but a pleasure to look at and to hold. Differently coloured sheer fabrics, layered over patterns, produce magical effects, and I am always ready to experiment with multicoloured threads and different stitches. I also like the way that, if desired, the notebook can easily be removed and replaced with, perhaps, a diary or an address book.
