This is a oozy, sticky, sweet memory from my childhood. My Mum would treat us to homemade treacle sponge (if we were lucky) and I remember dipping my spoon in the syrup and letting it flow onto my pudding making patterns as it reached the golden surface. Word of caution though...you have to keep your eye on it otherwise it could land on your jumper and cause hilarity for the rest of time. (Sorry, Dan)!
