Bedlington terrier

This is one of the most time consuming pieces I've made to date - Bedlington is one fluffy breed! The 'head' I sculpted from cotton fabric, hand stitching and stuffing each piece of material individually to create the right shape (see the process photo). The eyes are glass and the nose is stitched from faux leather. All that fluffy fur I created by sewing on single strands of wool yarn.

He is mounted on a wood board covered in a gorgeous blue Harris tweed and he has a handmade collar and metal identity tag saying 'Characters by Julia'.

The piece measures 34.5cm from top to bottom.

Bedlington is one of my favourite dog breeds and even though I will most probably never make another (simply too much fluff!) I'm really glad I made it as I think he looks great. x
