This is a silver plate charm necklace of a trio of daisies which decrease in size on the neckline. Each daisy has delicate carving on the petals to give a texture to each flower. The trio of clovers have a width of approximately 3.2 cm. The chain is silver plate and has an approximate length of 18in (46cm). The chain fastens with a lobster claw clasp.
The necklace will arrive in a presentation box.
The daisy is a sacred symbol of the Virgin Mary and is linked to grace and purity, hence the saying 'Fresh as a Daisy'. In Art, especially during the Renaissance period, the daisy was used as a replacement to the lily in paintings and is believed to represent the baby Jesus as a symbol of simple virtue. The opposite is true in Norse mythology, where the daisy becomes a sybol of love and has links to the theme of unblemished youth. In western society, daisy is a simple symbol of transformation. The Roman Myth of Verumus, the roman god of seaons and Belides, the nymph, tells a story of unwanted affections towards Belides, so instead of hurting Verumus feeling, Belides transforms herself into a field of daisies.
