This is a one-of-a-kind felted shoulder bag that has been felted using snowy white merino wool and has been lined with silk. The pure habotai silk lining has been fused to the pure merino wool using a nuno felting process. The handbag is decorated with a Saami Beaivi Sun rock art design. The shoulder strap was tablet woven with fine quality cotton yarns using traditional weaving patterns.

This shoulder bag will fit your mini Ipad nicely. The felted bag measures 7" x 9" with a 46" handwoven shoulder strap.

The felted purse can be gently hand washed in cool water. Wrap the bag in a towel to remove excess water and hang to dry.

Beaivi Sun
In Sapmi, the Land of the Midnight Sun, where the Sun doesn't reach the horizon in the winter months, the Sun is appreciated and plays a major role in Sami culture. At winter solstice, a reindeer was sacrificed to ensure that the sun returned to the world and put an end to the long winter season. At the time of the year when the Sun was returning, butter (which melts in the sunshine) was smeared on the doorposts, so that she could gain strength and go higher and higher in the sky. At summer solstice, people made sun rings out of leaves and pinned them up in her honor.
