Sometimes I make up stories about the characters in my paintings. Here's this one:
Young Belle Angel nagged her parents to have a puppy for her birthday. 'A dog is a big responsibility' said Mother Angel. 'They need feeding, taking for walks, given baths and lots of affection'.
'I can do all that' insisted Belle. In the end her mother gave in and Pip Pup came to stay.
But sometimes Belle is less than angelic and has yet to earn her wings. She forgot to take Pip Pup for a walk and Mother Angel was so cross, her wings flapped with anger sending white feathery bits all over a batch of hot sticky-toffee puddings! So Belle took Pip up the street for a walk and brought back a flower to say sorry to Mom. Later their neighbour, Mrs Golightly noticed one of her prize dahlias was missing from her garden.
Belle Angel won't be sprouting wings any time soon!
