This image is of the Yorkshire Post Building, which I always admired when it used to exist in central Leeds. The brutalist building was designed by John Madin and opened in 1970, it was home to the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post for 42 years but was demolished in 2014 (except for the clock tower section).
This screenprint was done by myself, Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis, in 2013.
It’s a 4 colour screenprint, each layer colour comes from a detailed fine line drawing, making it a very time consuming process, but one which I think gives the final image more depth and vibrancy.
Print size is 42 x 29 cm approx on 300gsm white cartridge paper.
Limited Edition run of 31
The print is sold unframed
The screenprint edition number sold may not necessarily be the edition marked on the photo, and as these are original screenprints there may be very slight variations from print to print.
All prints are signed by the artist.
Copyright of the image remains to the artist Simon Lewis

I enjoy drawing buildings, these end up being ones I walk past often enough in Leeds that I end up appreciating certain qualities about them.
