This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I've designed this as a Happy New Year suncatcher as I wanted a new design to celebrate the beginning of a bright new 2015. It's not just for New Year though, it's a celebration of the start of every new day.
It is a 'picture' of a sun and a rainbow over a landscape, in a ring.
The sun's rays are a rainbow with, at either side a little piece of raindrop, iridescent glass as that's how rainbows happen. Under the rainbow are green fields and a patch of sparkling water as the sun is shining on it.
Lots of different textures of glass and plenty of brightness so it will cast lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It is 13.5cm in diameter and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
It's framed in twisted wire for neatness and strength.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
All photos are of this suncatcher as it's the first I've made to this design.
