An Organic and beautiful design in macrame wrapping two natural Peruvian Chrysocolla Stones. The threads forming this design are matched to the colours in the stones and feature many different points of macrame, which gives a rich texture without taking away from the crystals natural colourful beauty.
With a large piece like this I let the design form as I go, starting with a rough idea only. Chrysocolla, commonly mistaken for Turquoise, is one of my favorite crystals and the Peruvian Chrysocolla is perfect for jewellery because it naturally forms with Quartz inclusions and mixed with Quartz. This not only presents gorgeous glassy fractals within the crystal; it also gives it much more longevity than pure Chrysocolla and actually make it a viable stone with which to make jewellery, as pure Chrysocolla is very soft and almost powdery. Even the harder varieties of pure chrysocolla is prone to chipping very easily.

I love crysocolla and wished to make a larger design around these beautiful stones, accentuating but not detracting from their natural beauty. I was itching to do it and so bought the threads in the colours you see, handpicked from the crystal.

Worth noting that this item has a high price because it took almost 30hours to make, so you see the price charged is much less than £10 per hour. And because of the price of the item I have listed the postage price for recorded delivery/ to be signed for which only costs about £1 more than regular post for the weight of this item. :)
