Item details

An original (not digital) 2 colour woodblock print of Scottish pebbles from a limited edition of 9, hand-printed in watercolour onto Japanese atsu shi acid-free, unbleached paper. Each image is printed individually, so will have its own unique qualities and may differ slightly from the image shown. The print is signed and dated by me in the bottom right corner.

The print is mounted with Daler Rowney 'charcoal' pH neutral mounting board, wrapped in a biodegradable sleeve, and sent in a board backed envelope.

Mount size: 23cmx23cm
Mount opening: 13cmx13cm
The print is sold unframed, but the mount fits a 23cmx23cm square frame, such as the Ikea Ribba shown in the photograph.

I enjoy using the form and tone of pebbles to make different compositions, in this case using the natural lines on the pebbles to make a circle while the size of each pebble dictates the overall form. I draw directly from my large pebble collection, and hand-cut the final image onto a woodblock before hand-printing using a baren. The texture of the wood is ideal for representing the surface of the pebbles.
