Item details
A customer, who lived on the Northumbrian coast , asked me to design and make a coffee table for their upstairs lounge that resembled drift wood. As I would never find suitably sized pieces of timber on the beach, I had to start from scratch and try to create a driftwood appearance for them in my workshop.The table has rounded softened edges to give a worn appearance.The white wash paint worked well and the acrylic varnish, being water based, did not yellow the paint. The butterfly key inlays keep the gaps in the top boards uniform as well as adding visual interest to the table top.
