Most of us who have had a child will remember what this moment feels like. It's just phenomenal. And this painting makes me remember each time I look at it. That moment changes you forever, and I imagine its similar with a grandchild. I'm proud of the depth in this picture, it draws my gaze, and I really hope it makes you feel the same.

This painting surprised me. I didn't have a million false starts like I usually do, it just happened. Like it wanted to be painted! It simply sprang from the page. I wish I had kept the 'work in process' photos so you could see what I mean! This is probably my favourite painting of my own so far.
